Await The Dawn, who was last seen finishing a disappointing third in the Juddmonte International, could make his comeback in the Qipco Champions Stakes at Ascot this weekend.

The Giants Causeway colt returned from York a very sick horse and has been rested ever since. Speaking at the Curragh yesterday his trainer Aidan O’Brien said “You wouldn’t believe how well Await The Dawn has done since York as he nearly died 48 hours after York.

“Await The Dawn, So You Think and Fame And Glory are all possibles for Ascot. We will decide later in the week, but a lot will depend on what happens with the big horse (So You Think). ”

O ‘Brien also announced that Chester Oaks winner Wonder Of Wonders, who also finished second behind Dancing Rain in the Epsom Oaks, has been retired.

Nominated for 2011 Realex Web Awards
