Manchester United travels to Romania to face Otelul Galati looking for their first Champions League win of the new season.
After draws with both Benfica and Basel in their opening two games, Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking for this side to take control of the group against the Romanian’s competing in their first Champions league group stage facing a team from England for the first time.
Galati has been far from overawed so far with Basel needing a late penalty to secure a 2-1 win on match day one win before narrowly losing at home to Benfica last time out. However in truth Benfica dominated in Romania and a late rally by the hosts, which almost saw them snatch a draw, aside should have won by more.
United fan’s concerned by the slow start should look back to the 1998/1999 season to the last time when United failed to win in their opening two matches as that was the year they won their first CL trophy under Sir Alex.
United will be without Rio Ferdinand after he was left out of the squad that flew to out Romania however Nemanja Vidic could return after making the flight.
Ferdinand made his comeback in the 1-1 with Liverpool at the weekend with Vidic left out of the game.
Dimitar Berbatov also missed the Anfield clash but is included in the squad however Tom Cleverley (foot) and Rafael (shoulder) remain on the sidelines, although they are nearing a return to full fitness.
