Despite his recent surge in form, Mario Balotelli might be on his way out of Eastlands, according to reports in Italy.
The striker seems to be finding his feat in England following a controversial first season in England but if rumours are true then he is likely to be shipped back to Italy in a deal with Napoli for highly rated forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.
With Dzeko and Aguero in scintillating form this campaign, it has been tough for the former Inter striker but when he has got the opportunity he has taken it. Six appearances in all competitions this year for the young striker and he has found the net on four occasions including a superb effort against Villa at the weekend. Controversy has never been far from “Super Mario” though and City would probably be happy to offload him if they were to bring in Lavezzi.
Lavezzi has been on the radars of a lot of big clubs recently and caught City’s eye during their Champions League encounter at Eastlands. A possible deal could see Lavezzi move in the opposite direction to Balotelli. The two sides meet again before Christmas in the Champions League so the City’s chiefs can have another look at the player.
All these rumours have been sparked by Balotelli’s agent and last night, Napoli , Walter Mazzarri commented: “The Balotelli-Lavezzi exchange?
“I am glad that I have the squad I have, but as I said before, I would not say no to a player like Balotelli.”
