Kevin Foley is facing a further spell of one month on the sidelines after undergoing an ankle operation.
The injury has restricted the 26-year-old defender to just one start this season, featuring in their Carling Cup win over Northampton.
The Ireland international was keen to avoid undergoing the doctor’s knife and had been trying various treatments in an effort to return to full fitness, however, those methods have failed to work forcing him down the surgery route.
Speaking to the Wolves official website manager Mick McCarthy confirmed that Foley requires an operation and he remains hopeful he would be back in action within a month “Kevin Foley is having an operation (on Tuesday), “It depends on what type of operation he has as to how long he’s out for”
“We always try conservative treatment but they’re just going to open him up to see.
“I think it’s only going to be a little clear-up operation so hopefully it will only be four weeks.”
