Liverpool linked with Higuain

Liverpool may make a surprise bid for Real Madrid and Argentina striker Gonazalo Higuain in the January transfer window.

Kenny Dalglish is reportedly keen on Higuain whose progress at Real Madrid has been stop-start thanks to a spate of injuries stifling his run in the team despite scoring 77 goals in 134 appearances for Madrid.

His possible sale is even more surprising when you consider Higuain is Real Madrid’s top-scorer in the league, ahead of even Cristiano Ronaldo, despite only starting three league games this year.

A Spanish radio station has reported that a number of big clubs are tracking the striker and it has now emerged that Liverpool are admirers of him too.

Higuain started only 17 league games last season but still managed to chip in with ten goals and in the last two weeks has scored two consecutive hat-tricks.

Unfortunately for the Argentine, a mix of injuries, Benzema’s emergence as the talent everyone expected of him and an unexplainable unpopularity with some of the media and fans surrounding the Bernabéu contribute to his possible exit from the team of Galactico’s.
