Kerry footballer Paul Galvin is being investigated following an alleged violent incident with RTÉ radio impersonator Oliver Callan in a Dublin pub last night.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Independent: “We can confirm we are investigating an alleged incident between two men at approximately 11.40pm at a licenced premises on October 19.”

Callan has parodied the All Star forward’s interest in fashion on his RTÉ radio show Green Tea as Galvin has become somewhat of a fashion icon in recent years and recently took a sabbatical from his teaching job to study fashion.

It is alleged that Galvin took offence at a joke about his relationship with RTÉ presenter Grainne Seoige following recent newspaper reports about their friendship.

Witnesses say that Galvin confronted Callan in Kehoe’s of South Anne Street last night and Pearse Street Gardai confirmed they received a complaint at the premises in the early hours of the morning.
