5th place Bohemians welcomes 2nd in the table Sligo Rovers to Dalymount Park on Friday night hoping to gain revenge for their FAI cup semi final defeat last weekend.
Sligo sealed a third successive Final appearance with a 1-0 win last Sunday and will be looking for a similar result on Friday as they bid to prolong at best the crowing of Shamrock Rovers as Champions.
Sligo will be without full back Alan Keane who serves a one match ban due to the accumulation of yellow cards but otherwise, Paul Cook will have a full squad to choose from.
Speaking to Sligorovers.com ahead of the game Cook said: “We performed better against St Pat’s the previous week but took our chance when it came in the cup game. Bohemians played well last week and gave us a very hard game.
I have no doubt they will be keen to make up for it and finish strongly in front of their own supporters. We have a record number of points and we want to try to get as many as possible before the season ends.
We finished third last season and our target is always improvement so we will be giving our all the last two matches to finish as high as possible.”
Pat Fenlon’s side meanwhile took full points from their league games this season in the Showgrounds, coming behind on both occasions to win 2-1 with the two sides sharing the spoils in their only prevopis league meeting at Dalymount.
Bohs are still sweating on the fitness of defender Aidan Price who is struggling with a dead leg and may still not be fit for selection
Stats: Friday’s will be the 20th league, cup or league cup match between Bohemians and Sligo Rovers since Pat Fenlon took over at Dalymount. Of the past 19 matches, Bohemians have won ten, Sligo have won four and five have been drawn.
