Dromore 1-8 Clonoe 2-4
Dromore claimed a second Tyrone Senior Football Championship title in three seasons, when they defeated Clonoe in the final on Sunday afternoon. The winners had to survive a late fightback from the 2008 champions before claiming the spoils.
Niall Sludden was the hero for Dromore, kicking over an excellent late point to win the game. Clonoe had looked to have the momentum at this stage as they had fought back from seven points down to draw level with only ten minutes left. Goals from Shane Coney and county minor Daniel McNulty edged the losers back into the tie.
Eoin McCusker and Paddy Montague had given Dromore an early lead. A Patrick Doris free gave Clonoe their only score of the opening 27 minutes, as the Dromore defence held tough.
Dromore went in with a 0-6 to 0-3 interval lead, and went further ahead when Ryan McMenamin pushed forward to add a point.
McCusker scored the goal that was to make the difference and his powerful low shot was unstoppable. His side did just enough to hold the late revival from Clonoe and they deserved the win.
