Ryan Moore has been confirmed as the rider for So You Think in the Breeder’s Cup Classic which will take place in Churchill Downs on Saturday week.
Moore, who has partnered the colt a number of times this season, gets the nod ahead of Seamie Heffernan, who rode the colt to win the Coral Eclipse and the Irish Champion Stakes and Joseph O’Brien who rides the horse in his home work.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien feels that So You Think will give a good account of himself as he tackles a dirt surface for the first time “So You Think’s ability to travel and stay could be more significant than any fears about his ability to handle dirt. He has loads of experience on his side and we’re looking forward to seeing him run.”
He confimed that no jockeys have yet been booked for his two possibles for the Breeder’s Cup Turf, Await The Dawn, last seen in the Juddmonte International and St Nicholas Abbey, who finished outside the places in the Arc last time out, as Ryan Moore has been claimed for the ride on Sea Moon.
O’Brien also indicated that his horses at the Breeder’s Cup will ‘probably’ run on medication when they travel stateside.
