Tyrone stars Brian McGuigan and Philip Jordan have tonight announced their retirement from inter-county football.
McGuigan and Jordan, both 31, were part of a golden age of Tyrone GAA, in a period that saw the county win three All-Ireland SFC titles in 2003, 2005 and 2008.
Both players also recieved individual recognition for their talents on the field with Jordan was awarded four All Stars during his illustrious career, scooping the prize in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2010, while McGuigan picked up his sole All Star in 2003.
Speaking after the announcement Tyrone manager Mickey Harte said “”I have found both players to be great gentlemen as well as magnificent sportsmen.
“The Tyrone team will miss their energy and class on the field. They have contributed so much to Tyrone’s most successful decade ever.”
