Stuart Pearce has had to make three changes to the England U21 squad as they prepare for their European Championship Qualifier against Iceland.

Pearce has been forced into making the changes after Sunderland’s Connor Wickham and Middlesbrough’s Alex Nimely, currently on loan from Manchester City both picked up injuries at the weekend and Everton’s Jack Rodwell was called up to the senior squad for their game against Spain.

Coming into the squad are Joe Bennett, who missed last month’s games to Iceland and Norway through illness, Manchester United’s Will Keane, who steps up from the U19s squad, and Newcastle United forward Sammy Ameobi.

After their game against Iceland Pearce and his side will travel to Mons in Belgium to wrap up 2011 with their fifth game of qualification on Monday night.
