Rory McIlroy moves no2 in Golf world rankings

Rory McIlroy has moved to a career high no 2 in the world rankings released today. The Ulsterman is now only behind Englishman Luke Donald who holds the number one spot.

McIlroy, who won his first major this year, capped a fine few weeks with a fourth-place finish in Shanghai last weekend. Tiger Woods meanewhile continues his slide down the rankings and is now a lowly 58th in the world rankings.

Woods return to action in the Australian Open this week It will be this first time that Woods and his former caddie Steve Williams will meet since Williams infamous comment about his former employer in which Williams used comments that he admitted “could be construed as racist.”
