Tottenham and Arsenal are set to ignite their rivalry off the pitch as well as on it this January when the two North London clubs battle it out for the signings of highly rated Belgian duo Eden Hazard and Jan Vetonghen.
Hazard has caught the attention of several big European clubs by helping Lille to the League 1 title and also playing a starring role in their Champions League campaign thus far. He has put Europe’s elite on alert after declaring that he wants to leave the French champions next summer. He is valued at around £30 million and Arsene Wenger has been tracking him closely for months.
Other clubs have suddenly become interested after his eye catching performances in Europe and a bidding war is expected after Tottenham and Man City have sent scouts to watch the forward in action.
Tottenham are also tracking his Belgian team mate Jan Vetonghen according to reports and are lining up a £10 million bid in January but Arsenal are now interested in the defender to bolster their shaky back line.
