Kilmurray-Ibrickane 0-9 Dr Crokes 0-12
Moyle Rovers 1-5 UCC 5-12
The AIB Munster Club Senior Football Championship on December 4, will once again see a meeting of Cork and Kerry, as UCC and Dr Crokes face off for provincial honours.
The former easily saw off Moyle Rovers in Clonmel, while Crokes had to work a little harder coming from behind to defeat the Clare champions in Killarney. Goals certainly win matches, and the students hit five of them in a demolition of the Tipperary representatives. Ironically, it was Kerry man Paul Geaney who did the most damage, notching up 2-5 of his sides total. The students only led by five points at the break, 1-7 to 1-2 but really opened up after the restart. Stephen O’Brien and Gavin O’Grady were to the fore as College stepped up a gear and ran riot. The side will prove tough opposition for Crokes in the final.
Down in Killarney, Crokes fought back from being three points down early on, to eventually run out 0-12 to 0-9 winners over former Munster champions Kilmurry-Ibrickane of Clare. Kerry legend Colm Cooper scored the last three points of the tie as his side ran out deserving winners of a tight contest. His county colleague Kieran O’Leary also had a fine game, scoring some excellent points from full forward.
Daithi Casey, who had played for UCC in their Cork county final success, was in action for his club side this afternoon and was sent off near the finish for a second bookable offence.
