Some good news, for supporters- on the vexed question of admission charges.
Its emerged from last night’s Munster Council meeting with the news that following consultation with the clubs involved in Sunday’s finals of the Senior Club Championships, it was agreed to reduce the prices of the AIB Munster Club Senior Football Championship Final at Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney and the AIB Munster Club Senior Hurling Championship Final Replay at Semple Stadium Thurles, both scheduled for 2pm on Sunday next December 4th.
AIB Munster Club Senior Football Championship Final – Dr. Crokes (Kerry) v UCC (Cork) -Admission Prices – Adults – €15; Student/OAP – €10 (reduction of €5 across the board)
AIB Munster Club Senior Hurling Championship Final – Na Piarsaigh (Limerick) v Crusheen (Clare) – Admission Prices – Adults – €10; Student/OAP – €5 (reduction of €5 on top of normal replay decrease)
In other news almost €1,000,000 worth of grants to Munster GAA clubs were approved at last night’s meeting of the Munster Council.
A total €903,619 will be allocated to some 164 clubs around the 6 counties in Munster through Club Development grants. This latest allocation of Club Development grants brings the amount of money redistributed to Munster clubs over the last 5 years to in excess of €7,500,000. Munster GAA is the only provincial body to provide Development grants to clubs from their own resources. Details of the Club Development grant allocations will be circulated in the coming days .
