Irish Badminton beat Rest of the World side

In the warm up to the Irish International event badminton Ireland hosted an exhibition between the Irish national Team and a Rest of the World selection.

This was a very successful match going right to the last game. Ireland took the ladies singles, Men singles and Mixed doubles on their way to seal the win with a 3-2 victory, much to the appreciation of the home crowd!

Congratulations to the Winning Irish Team.
Scott Burnside, Niall Tierney, Tony Stephenson, Owen Marron, Sinead Chambers, Jennie King, Pauline Glennon and Fiona Glennon.

Irish Olympic hopefuls Scott Evans, Chloe Magee and Sam Magee were rested ahead of the Irish Open title bids.
A big thanks must be given to the rest of the World Team Dorian James & Willem Vijoen (South Africa), Chris Coles (England), Dinuka Karunaratne (Sri Lanka), Karyn Velez (USA), Sarah Thomas (Wales), Julia Wong (Malaysia) and Aimee Moran (Wales) who put up a very good display in all the matches played.
