QPR are understood to be preparing a bid for Tottenham’s out-of-favour goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
The Brazilian keeper is no longer first choice at White Hart Lane following the arrival of Brad Freidel from Aston Villa in the summer. With Carlo Cudicini having moved ahead of Gomes as second choice, he looks set to move in January.
According to reports in the Daily Express, QPR are ready to offer the player an escape route. The fact that the Premiership new boys can guarantee him regular first team football may be sufficient to tempt the Brazilian.
Rangers boss Neil Warnock is expected to be busy during the January transfer window as he bids to sign the players needed to keep the club in the top flight.
A new goalkeeper is believed to be top of his list and he has also shown an interest in signing Peterborough’s Joe Lewis.
