Updated: December 16, 2011

Tyrone Ladies celebrated their 20th Anniversary at the December meeting held at the Omagh St Enda’s club in the president of Pat Quill, President of the Ladies Gaelic GAA and Ulster President, Hugh Devenney. At the meeting , the county board also ratified the appointment of Gerry Moane, the former Fermanagh minor and Augher manager as the County’s new supremo for 2012 .

Moane has taken over from Martina Dillon and will have as backup, the services of last year’s assistant manager, Aidan Connolly and trainer, Barry Grimes. Moane and his back-room team plan to ‘hit the ground running’ ahead of January’s Dowd Cup and the National League campaign that follows.

Talking of the future Moane said : “We have already, and will continue to, talk to a host of potential players in the next couple of days; we intend to get the players back
out as a unit and we as a management team have set targets. We will all sit down and put in place a plan, I know the ambitions of the players and the county board are matched, we all have to work together”.

2011 Tyrone Ladies awards went to:

Club of the Year – Sperrin Og
Senior County Player of the Year – Aisling O’Kane
Hall of Fame – Rosemary Carson

Under Moane’s management the county is looking forward to the year ahead, in both National League and the championships after a relatively disappointing 2011
