While many owners feel that Big Buck’s simply cannot be beaten, one man, Dai Walters, believes that his horse Oscar Whiskey can put it up to the triple World Hurdle winner at Cheltenham.
Walters was speaking after Big Buck’s landed his 14th straight win over hurdles in the Long Walk at Ascot on Saturday and he feels that his horse could be the one horse that could put it up to the Paul Nicholls trained gelding.
Speaking to the Racing Post, he said “One day Big Buck’s will get beaten. I’m not saying it will be us but I’d love to give it a go”.
Oscar Whiskey enhanced his World Hurdle claims with a smooth success in the Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham nine days ago and is the horse most bookmakers believe it the most credible threat to Big Buck’s yet Walters is fully aware of the challenge his horse faces.
“Big Buck’s was awesome on Saturday, but he has everyone running scared and I’d love to see a good horse take him on”
