McCaffrey Confirmed as Manager

Updated: December 23, 2011

Dundalk Football Club can confirm that former Republic of Ireland underage boss Seán McCaffrey has been appointed as the club’s new manager.

The 52-year-old has agreed a one-year deal at Oriel Park and will immediately set about building a squad for the 2012 season.

McCaffrey will be assisted by Darius Kierans, who continues in his role as No2 having arrived at the club last January, with the 32-year-old spending last season in the dugout alongside Ian Foster.

Completing the three-man management team is Dundalk’s 2002 FAI Cup-winning right-back John Whyte, who has been helping out with the club’s underage teams since July.

McCaffrey will announce his first signing at tonight’s ‘Meet & Greet’, which gets underway at 7.30pm in Reilly’s Bar in the Youth Development Centre at Oriel Park.
