Tony McCoy is facing a further week on the sidelines after his crunching fall at Taunton last Friday.
The 16 time champion jockey took a nasty fall on the Nicky Henderson-trained Laudatory on Friday in a handicap hurdle. His PA, Gee Bradburne, said “”He has fractured ribs and bruising on his lungs and will be having a quiet week; he’ll definitely not be riding this week and does need to rest up.
“He was allowed to go home after further tests had been completed and he’s due to go back to the doctor in a week’s time.”
Bradburne added: “He sounds in good spirits, given he won’t be riding, but he is very sore.”
McCoy had been hoping to break the magical 300 winners in a season record, however that now looks unlikely this season at least.
