Crack mare Voler La Vedette will have her next start in the BHP Insurance Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown at the end of this month.
Her trainer Colm Murphy revealed that his start mare came out of her victory in the Grade 2 Christmas Hurdle in great form and is all set for a potential clash with reigning Champion Hurdler Hurricane Fly.
Murphy said “ Voler La Vedette came out of her Christmas Hurdle in good form and will be given an entry for the Irish Champion. The chances are she’ll run if the ground is soft or heavy.
“We’ll have plenty of options in terms of distance later in the season but there really isn’t any other suitable race coming up this month.
“If we’re happy with her and the ground is suitable then I’d imagine she’ll take her chance.”
Murphy also had news on his other stable star, Big Zeb, who is on course to take in the Tied Cottage at Punchestown in February y before heading to Cheltenham.
“Touch wood, he’s come out of his Leopardstown race well and the Punchestown race is the one we’re looking at for him before Cheltenham”
