Manchester Utd will look to put FA Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool behind them when they welcome Stoke to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Tuesday night, kick off 8.00pm.
It is hard to imagine, but the visitors come into this game with the better recent form. Despite wins against Manchester City and Arsenal, Man Utd have lost three of their last six games in all competitions. Tony Pulis’ side having tasted defeat just once in all competitions since Christmas.
Man Utd will face a stern test from Stoke. Anderson and Ashley Young are due back in full training this week but both are expected to miss this game. Wayne Rooney, Nani or Phil Jones are expected make the starting 11.
Stoke, meanwhile, can call on a largely fit squad of players. Matthew Etherington, who limped off against Derby County at the weekend with a groin problem, is their only major injury concern ahead of the game.
Despite United’s mounting injury list, Tony Pulis is expecting a tough test against the Premier League champions. “United may have injury problems, but they’ve got incredible strength in depth. That’s why they’re the current champions and I’m sure that whatever side Sir Alex sends out it will still be one full of outstanding quality.”
