Limerick and Clare meet again at the Gaelic Grounds on Tuesday night in the Waterford Crystal Cup Senior Hurling Quarter Final replay.

The two counties met on Saturday and could not be separated after extra-time as Limerick scored 1-15 and Clare 0-18. The winner will progress to face Waterford in Sunday’s semi-final.

Limerick did not partake in the competition in 2011, but both counties can boast one Waterford Crystal Cup Senior Hurling title. Clare won in 2009, while Limerick claimed the title in 2006.

Limerick manager John Allen is expected to continue to experiment with his starting line-up. Limerick fielded a mere six players who were in the Limerick side that lost to Dublin in last year’s All-Ireland quarter final.

Allen could include Gavin O’Mahony and Graeme Mulcahy, who were recently in Ethiopia on a charity visit, for tonight’s encounter. Forwards Niall Moran and Michael Ryan could also return to the team after missing Saturday’s match through injury. Thomas Quaid, who went off injured against Clare, should be fit and could start.

Limerick and Clare will meet again in the opening match of the league on February 25.
