Hockey: Ireland 0-2 Spain

Ireland lost their final game against Spain this morning in Valencia.

The first half the sides were even with the Spanish shading it on the penalty corner count. Both sides failed to make the most of the opportunity afforded to them.

Half Time Score: Ireland 0-0 Spain

In the 2nd half Spain came out the stronger side with more circle penetrations and penalty corners. In the 52nd minute this paid dividends when Pau Quemada scored from a penalty corner to give Spain the lead. Ireland had a brief spell but again failed to take advantage of their attacks. In the 69th minute Pol Amat wrapped it up for Spain scoring from close in.

The team return home this evening.
