Scotland could be without Alasdair Strokosch for the rest of the Six Nations after the flanker broke his hand in the 27-13 loss to Wales.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said Monday that “recovery from such an injury takes typically between four to six weeks.”

The team’s last match in the northern hemisphere competition is against Italy on March 17, a game that will be probably decide which country finishes bottom of the standings.

Scotland is also assessing an ankle injury sustained by winger Max Evans, who left the Millennium Stadium on Sunday on crutches and wearing an immobilizing boot.

Scotland, which opened its Six Nations campaign with a 13-6 loss to England, plays France next on Feb. 26.
