The Irish Daily Mail Sigerson quarter-finals progressed further today with three of the four ties being decided.
University College Cork reached the semi-final by virtue of a 2-07 to 0-11 win against IT Sligo who missed several scoring opportunities whilst DCU had an easy 1-15 to 0-7 victory over DIT. The winners led 1-8 to 0-2 at the interval and though DIT improved considerably in the second period they never looked like making up the deficit.
Hosts of this year’s tournament NUI Galway were surprisingly defeated 0-12 to 1-06 by UUJ with the Jordanstown side showing considerable improvement from recent outings.
The fourth of the quarter finals takes place Thursday evening when NUI Maynooth take on UCD at 7pm at the NUIM Campus. As always SportsNewsIreland will keep you updated.
