Galileo’s Choice booked his ticket to Cheltenham with a bloodless victory in the Easter Festival 8th-10th April Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Wednesday afternoon.

Ridden by Robbie McNamara, the Dermot Weld trained gelding cruised through the 2m contest and only had to be given minimal encouragement to quicken away from Becauseicouldn’tsee and the Willie Mullins trained Terminal.

Speaking after the race, Weld confirmed that Cheltenham would be the next stop for his charge. “That was a pleasing performance. Galileo’s Choice wouldn’t be in love with that ground but I was pleased and he’ll now take his chance in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.”
