Updated: February 18, 2012

An excellent ride this morning for Ireland’s Caroline Ryan who finished in a creditable 10th place in the Womens’ Individual Pursuit event at the UCI World Track Championships at the Velodrome in Olympic Park.

Ryan finished in 3:42.106 . The 2011 National Champion in this event came 7th in the Pursuit at the World Cup in Cali last December, and had been hoping to knock  a few more seconds off the Irish Record of 3min 39.4sec. The individual pursuit is a 3km race against the clock.
The medals will be decided later when Great Britain’s Joanna Rowsell (3:33:496)  meets Alison Shanks of New Zealand (3:33.578)  for the Gold whilst the battle for bronze will be between Vilija  Sereikaite of Lithuania and Australia’s Amy Cure.
