The pride of Belfast Brian Magee successfully defended his WBA interim Super Middleweight title against Rudy Markussen at the Brondby Hallen in Denmark on Saturday night.
Brian Magee had a phenomenal stoppage on the 5th round against his Danish opponent which left the home fans shell shocked.
Magee ,who hails from Lisburn, stopped “Hard Hitter” Markussen with a devastating body shot after a fairly even first 5 rounds.
Magee turns 37 years young in June and improves his formidable record now to 36-4-1 including 25 Knock Outs.
Ireland’s fighter of the year in 2011 now will have to assess his options for his next defence of his title but will take great encouragement from this win.
