Young Belgian striker Romelo Lukaku is set to make a season long loan move to Fulham after struggling to find a place in the Chelsea starting line-up.
The 18 year-old is said to have become very frustrated with his lack of opportunities and is said to have sought a move from Stamford Bridge himself.
Chelsea see him as a player for the future and refused to sell the teenager, who is of Congolese parentage. They do feel that a season of first team football would be invaluabe to him however.
“It is clear that, if Romelo’s situation stays the same, we have to search for a solution,” – his agent Christof Henroty revealed.
“Chelsea want to loan him to another Premier League club, preferably one in London, so they can follow his evolution,” Henroty added. Martin Jol’s Fulham have followed the player for some time and now look set to take the player for the 2012-’13 season. It is not yet known whether there will be a stipulation in Lukaku’s contract that he will not be allowed play against Chelsea next season.
