Leinster Under 21 preview & live score updates from Offaly v Kildare

Left corner-forward Mark Young has been called up to the Offaly Under 21 side for the Leinster Championship Quarter-Final clash with Kildare.

Young scored the only goal of last week’s first round clash with Meath as the Faithfield County advanced on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-9 with Young helping himself to 1-2 from play, having only come into the fray nine minutes into the second half.   Young replaces Paul McPadden who was controversially red carded on the night.  Having led by four points mid way through the second half, Offaly, with 14 men, unsurprisingly tired but held on for a deserved win.

Senior forward Anthony Sullivan has been confirmed as being eligible to play despite being sent off for Offaly’s seniors against Antrim in their National Football League clash over the weekend.

Offaly (Leinster Under 21 Football Championship v Kildare): G Shiels; D Hanlon, E Rigney, J Kavanagh; S Hannon, J Ledwith, J McPadden; M Brazil, D Kelly; D Hogan, A Sullivan, G Guilfoyle; T Spain, B Allen, M Young.
