Belfast City Marathon on Monday 2 May

For the second successive year, the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is employing a team of pacers to give an extra little boost to those runners aiming for specific finishing times this coming May Day Bank Holiday Monday.

The pacers proved so popular on their introduction last year that their number has been increased to 12, who will be setting paces of between three and 4.5 hours.

Runners who would to avail of a pacer should log on to www.belfastcitymarathon.com to register.

The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon celebrates its 30th anniversary on Monday 2 May, with the deadline for entries Friday 25 March:  a surcharge will be levied after this date, and the final cut-off date is 16 April.

The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is also sponsored by ASICS sportswear, Belfast City Council, Sport Northern Ireland, Tayto, Translink and Up and Running.  Media partners are the Daily Mirror and U105.  Official accommodation partner is Premier Inn and official vehicle provider is the Donnelly Group.

The 2011 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is organised by Belfast City Marathon Ltd., in partnership with Athletics Northern Ireland, Belfast City Council, the Department for Regional Development, Newtownabbey Borough Council, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Sustrans and Translink.  The official charities for 2011 are Macmillan Cancer Support and Transplant Sport UK.
