Man Utd set to sign Crystal Palace defender

Updated: March 20, 2012

According to various Manchester United sources from Twitter, Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne looks set to join Manchester United in the summer with a fee agreed between £3-4 million.

Ferguson was impressed with the England Under 21 during Palace’s shock Carling Cup quarter-final win at Old Trafford back in December and reports believe that United struck a deal for Nathaniel Clyne in February as the right-back’s contract expires in the summer.

News of Clyne’s signing will be a welcome one for United supporters with regular right-back Rafael struggling for fitness in recent weeks and with centre-backs Phil Jones and Chris Smalling usually deputising for the injury-prone Brazilian during the course of the season.
