Aintree the target for unbeaten Bay

Updated: March 20, 2012

Fingal Bay, who defeated high class novice Simonsig earlier this season is set to reappear at the John Smith’s Grand National meeting at Aintree, his trainer Phillip Hobbs has said on Tuesday.

The novice, who missed Cheltenham with a pulled hamstring, is back cantering on the gallops at home and is on course for the three day spectacular.

Hobbs said on Attheraces ” He’s back cantering again and looks terrific. The three mile novice hurdle at Aintree [John Smith' s Sefton Novices' Hurdle on April 13] is worth more than any of the Cheltenham races, and providing the ground is alright he will go there, although Punchestown is a possibility.”
