Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers all progressed to the semi finals in a night of high drama in the Setanta Cup. Second half goals from Barry Molloy, Stephen McLaughlin and a late strike from Simon Madden saw Derry beat Linfield 3-1
Holders Shamrock Rovers lost 2-0 on the night away to Cliftonville however with the game finishing 3-3 on aggregate the dreaded penalty shoot out was called into action with Rovers edging it 3-1.
Sligo meanwhile continued their solid start to the season as they drew 1-1 with Glentoran to seal their place in the semis with a 3-1 aggregrate win.
Crusaders ensured that there would be some Irish league representation in the final four as they proved too strong for Bohs running out 2-0 winners in Dublin thanks to goals from Declan Caddell and David McMaster.
