Manchester City v Chelsea: Team News

Manchester City will more than likely welcome Carlos Tevez back into the fold tonight as they look to keep their Premier League hopes on track against Chelsea at the Ethiad Stadium tonight.

Roberto Mancini is expected to name Tevez on the bench, for this vital match as City look to stay in touch with closest rival Man United.

They will have to do it, without their preferred combination of centre backs as Joleon Lescott is out and barring a minor miracle Captain Vincent Kompany will miss out aswell.

This will likely force Mancini to pair Stevan Savic with Kolo Toure in central defence a prospect that would make City fans feel any better about tonight’s game with a Chelsea side somewhat resurgent since the departure of Andres Villas Boas.
There is some good news as, right-back Pablo Zabaleta and midfielder Gareth Barry are both fit for selection.

Chelsea have their own problems in central defence as captain John Terry will miss out on this once due to a twinge in the knee he had surgery on earlier in the season. The injury is not serious and he should be fit again by the weekend according to Di Matteo
