Arsene Wenger is set to offer Alex Song a lucrative new contract and the signing of Yann M’Villa is also expected.
Song has had a terrific season for the Gunners and has been inspirational in their recent run which has seen them win seven Premier League games on the spin to climb to third in the table. Arsene Wenger is said to be keen to offer fresh terms to the Cameroon holding midfielder.
The 24 year-old’s current contract is worth £55,000 a week and runs until summer 2014 but Wenger wants him secured for longer and the player is in line for a new five-year contract worth a reported £75,000 a week.
Even though the future of Song looks assured; Wenger wants further back up in the position and looks likely to sign 21 year-old Yann M’Villa for £17million from Rennes in the summer. The French club have given up on keeping him with Wenger having heard good reports from scouts about him and the £17million offer would be too good for the French club to refuse.
