Kerry captain, Colm Cooper was back to his brilliant best, scoring eight points in Killarney, as his side easily beat Galway in their Division One Allianz National Football League clash.
The win takes the pressure off Kerry, who had only won one of their three games in the competition prior to this afternoon. However, it puts real pressure on the tribesmen who have now lost all of their four games this season and are in serious danger of relegation.
Galway got off to a decent start with points from Gary Sice and Cormac Bane while Bryan Sheehan hit the first score for Kerry. The home side then took control and Cooper(2), David Moran and Donnacha Walsh all found the range.
Owen Concannon hit back with a point for Galway but Kerry scored three more points before half-time to lead 0-8 to 0-3 at the interval. Cooper was fast off the mark after the restart and added two further points, and Sheehan weighed in with another. Galway then rallied and scored three unanswered points. However, with Cooper in excellent form there was only ever going to be one result and the hosts added late scores to run out easy winners.
