Five potential Man United summer signings

Alex Ferguson looks set to strengthen his Manchester United squad this summer.

It is believed Ferguson is lining up a move for Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen. Eriksen would provide a real goal scoring threat from midfield – something United have lacked this season.

It is also believed that Athletic Bilbao teenager Iker Munian is also very much on the Old Trafford radar. The Spanish youngster impressed against Man United in the Europa League when Bilbao knocked United out of Europe recently.

United are also believed to be monitoring Dutch defensive midfielder Kevin Strootman as they look to add a tackler in the engine room.

The Red Devils have for some time now monitored the progress of Aly Cissokho. Many European clubs are said to be interested in the 24 year-old Lyon full-back and he is said to favor a move to Old Trafford himself.

United’s final major interest this summer is Japanese international Shinji Kagawa who is said to be stalling on signing a new deal with Borussia Dortmund.

It would be surprising if the attacking midfielder didn’t opt to stay at the Bundesliga club though because they look likely to retain their German crown. A move to Old Trafford would be tempting however, though, Kagawa would not be assured of a first-team berth.
