Fingal Bay on target for Sefton test

Updated: April 11, 2012

Fingal Bay, who defeated Cheltenham festival winner Simonsig earlier this season, is on course for the Grade 1 John Smith’s Sefton Novices Hurdle at Aintree on Friday.

The Philip Hobbs trained gelding was forced to miss the Chelteham festival due to a pulled hamstring, however Hobbs reports that the injury has cleared up and that his charge is all set for Aintree.

“”Now the rain has come and the word soft is in the going at Aintree, I think Fingal Bay will be going there rather than Punchestown which we had considered originally.

“He seems to have made a full recovery from the slight problem he sustained just before Cheltenham and is back working with all his old enthusiasm at home.”
