Wednesday’s Premier League round up

Updated: April 11, 2012

Wigan blew the title race right back open as they shocked Manchester United 1-0 at the DW Stadium.

Shaun Maloney’s 50th minute goal proved to be the match winner as a strong looking United side failed to find their groove managing just one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.

Wigan meanwhile moved out of the bottom three for the first time since September with a famous win.

Carlos Tevez meanwhile scored his first goal since his return to the Manchester City first team as Roberto Mancini’s side bounced back from their defeat to Arsenal with a four nil win over WBA at the Etihad.

The win, coupled with United’s loss means that the lead at the top is down to five points just days after the title appeared destined for Old Trafford.

Arsenal proved too strong for Wolves as they ran out comfortable three nil winners over the Premier League’s basement side while QPR joined Wigan in moving out of the bottom three with a 3-0 win over Swansea.
