Liverpool look set to recall goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi from his loan spell at Hull City.
The Merseysiders will face Everton in the FA semi final on Saturday without first choice keepers Pepe Reina and Alexander Doni who are both suspended.
Kenny Dalglish has hinted that he would go in search of cover of back up for third choice however Premier League rules would prevent him from doing so.
The rules only allow a move when injury, rather than suspension, affects a squad.
That means that Hungarian Gulacsi could be on the bench for Liverpool for one of their biggest games of the season.
The 21 year old, who has never played for the first team, is currently on a season-long loan with Championship Hull but has not played since New Year’s Eve following a knee injury.
The keeper is now fully fit, who has previously enjoyed loan spells at Hereford and Tranmere, would represent a better option than the untested pair of 18 year old Danny Ward and 17-year-old Tyrell Belford Rein
Australian international Jones meanwhile, who saved a penalty with his first touch against Blackburn, looks set to make just his fourth appearance for the club since his 2010 move from Middlesbrough with Dalglish insisting that he would have “no problem” in starting with Jones at Wembley.
