Adams gets Bradley’s backing as successor

Liam Bradley believes Gearoid Adams would be “the perfect guy” to succeed him as Antrim manager.

Adams worked as a selector alongside Bradley and is one of three candidates who were interviewed for the vacant post earlier this week. He is joined by Frank Dawson and Brian White as potential successors to Bradley as Antrim boss and is currently the favourite to land the role next week.

“If Gearoid goes for the job, he will be the perfect guy for it. He’ll bring continuity to it that was there,” Bradley said in The Irish News.

“But there are jobs that people think they are a shoo-in for and then suddenly a guy appears out of nowhere and gets it. I think at this stage it’s between Gearoid and Brian White.

“I know Gearoid is well capable of doing the job and Antrim would be getting a good lad. He’s a very passionate Antrim man, but he’s also a very, very good coach.

“The players really took to him last year. I’ve no doubt if there was a player’s representative on the interview panel, the players would want Gearoid.”
