Manchester Utd will look to get back on track this evening as they travel to Aldershot in the fourth round of the Carling Cup, kick off 7.45pm.

Fresh off the back of their humilating 6-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend, Utd will be looking to bounce back and lay down a marker to the rest of the foot balling world, that there is still plenty of fire left in them.

Sir Alex Ferguson has pledged to field a similar side to the one that performed so well at Leeds last month. Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov are set to start while Mame Biram Diouf is also in contention. Captain Nemanja Vidic could also come into the team having sat out the defeat to City.

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth rested a number of players at the weekend, including top scorer Danny Hylton, Alex Rodman, Darren Jones and Ben Herd – so they are all expected to come back into the fold.

While excepting that his side have a massive task on their hands, Holdsworth knows how big a night it is for his club “On Tuesday night, we’ve probably got the biggest game in the club’s history. It could mean financial security for a long, long time” he said.

It may not be a total mismatch, Man Utd will be looking at taking their anger out on Aldershot tonight after the weekend and are selected to get the job done. Winning will be important, but not as much as the performance which was a shadow of what it can be at the weekend. Man Utd to win.
