The final will be a repeat of the Leinster Final which Galway claimed in stunning fashion however since then Kilkenny have improved no end and they have been clinical in their dispatching of Limerick and Tipperary on their way to a seventh successive final appearance.

Despite winning appearing in 12 All Ireland finals and losing just three of them, Kilkenny won’t be resting on their laurels and will no doubt have revenge firmly on their mind following their 2-21 to 2-11 loss to the Tribesmen back on July 8th.

There is also the side show of an incredible 9th All Ireland winner’s medal at stake for the king of Kilkenny Hurling Henry Shefflin. The 33 year old has bounced back from a number of serious injuries in recent years and has been instrumental in the Cats revival since their Leinster loss.

Galway meanwhile will be looking for their first All Ireland in 24 years since they beat Tipperary 1-15 to 0-14. Anthony Cunningham side were impressive on their march to a first ever Leinster title scoring 12-63 and they showed a more resilient side to their game in their 0-22 to 0-17 win over Cork in the semi final.

To make your task even easier, we have picked three players that we think will have a big bearing on events tonight.

Fantasy5live Three to Watch:

TJ Reid (centre-forward): The Ballyhale hurler came in from Richie Hogan for the semi final against Tipperary and promptly scored 2-3 to help Kilkenny into the final. Despite being only 24 years old, Reid is a veteran of the panel having been involved since 2007 and was appointed captain in 2010. This season in particular however he has risen to the challenge of helping Kilkenny bounce back from their Leinster final agony and he will certainly make life difficult for the Galway defence on Sunday. Reid has scored 3-4 from play so far this season.

Aidan Fogarty (left corner-forward): Another veteran of the panel who have picked up the mantle of on field leader this season. The 30-year-old Emeralds clubman has endured a frustrating few years with form and injury hampering his progress however he has put that all behind this year with some sterling performances, his performance against Limerick was impressed however he upped that to another level with 1-3 against Tipperary and like Reid will make life difficult for Galway.

Joe Canning (full-forward): The talented full-forward seems to be able to do no wrong at the moment. Despite being only 23 years old Canning has been on the scene for a number of years, making his debut in 2008 however 2012 has been his year so far. With most pundit tipping Kilkenny for victory Galway will be hoping their talisman can reproduce the form from the Leinster final when he terrorised the cats defence.  Canning has scored 1-32 so far this season, 1-09 of which have come from play.
