Andy Murray is through to the semi-final at the Australian Open after beating Alexandr Dolgopolov on a 7-5 6-3 6-7 6-3 scoreline.
The Scot seemed to be on course for a straight sets victory but the giant-killing Ukrainian fought back and won the third set tie-break.
However, Murray capitalised on his opponent’s many mistakes in the fourth set before calmly serving out the 186-minute match. Murray will now meet either world number one Rafael Nadal or David Ferrer in the last four.
“It was very tough,” the Scot said afterwards.
“Every point against him is different, he hits the ball differently to everyone else, it’s tough to explain. I struggled with my rhythm early on and he came back in the third set but I thought I did well enough.”
