Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed midfielder Abou Diaby is set to miss the next three weeks after picking up a thigh injury.
Diaby had to be substituted during Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea and it was confirmed he will miss three weeks, the news will be a worry to the Frenchman who only returned from a hip injury last month after just five appearances in all of last season due to a thigh injury.
Wenger also said that Mikel Arteta will face a late fitness test ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Olympiakos at the Emirates.
In other injury news at the Gunners, long term absentee Jack Wilshire played his first match in 14 months yesterday as the Arsenal U21s took on West Bromich Albion U21s.
“We are pleased with Wilshere, but we will take it slowly. He is exceptionally happy,” Wenger said.
