Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has added his name to growing list of admirers of Porto’s Hulk.
Wenger is reportedly looking for a new striker as rumours surround the future of Dutch international Robin Van Persie, who has been linked with Manchester City, and has set his sights on Brazilian international Hulk.
The 25 year old has become one of the most sought after strikers in football since moving to Portugal from Tokyo Verdy in 2008 and has been linked with a host of clubs including Real Madrid, Chelsea and Tottenham.
However it is now thought that Arsenal are leading the chase for the 25-year-old Brazilian international’s signature and are thought to be preparing an offer in the region of 23 million pound, which is a bit of the release clause of 87 million pound inserted in the players new improved 5 year deal signed during the summer.
Speaking recently Hulk’s agent Teodoro Fonseca told A Bola: “Every year there are more clubs interest in Hulk and I am also aware that there are clubs from outside the Premier clubs interested.
“This Arsenal rumour is news to me but it is true that there has been contact before but nothing happened.
“But I speak often with Porto and the figures have not changed. He will only be sold if someone pays the £100m so this figure of £23m that has appeared would not be considered.”
