Irish rider Billy Twomey won his second Grand Prix in two weeks, when taking the top prize at Zurich’s five-star show in Switzerland on Friday, aboard Sue Davies’s mare Tinka’s Serenade.

In a six horse jump off, the Irish man saw off home star, Pius Schwizer to pick up the €35,000 prize for first place.

Twomey said after: “It was an amazing performance from the mare. It was a quite difficult course for the first day of the show, and the fact that only six got through to the jump-off from 42 starters confirmed that.

“I was early to go and decided to put it up to them, and in the end none of the others could catch me. I’m really happy with the result”
